CONSTRUCTION OF A LOGISTICS AND DISTRIBUTION CENTRE FOR FRUIT AND VEGETABLES IN POŽEGA

INVESTOR: Požega-Slavonia County

LOCATION: North Business Zone, Požega

SERVICE: Construction supervision

The project envisages the construction of a specialised logistics and distribution centre intended for the reception, processing, storage, and dispatch of fruit and vegetables. The facility accommodates ULO cold stores, refrigeration and freezing chambers, preparation and packaging areas, a freeze-drying plant, a dispatch zone, and ancillary facilities for employees (offices, changing rooms, sanitary facilities, and a canteen).

The structure consists of a reinforced concrete skeleton with columns of 60/60, 70/70, and 80/80 cm cross-sections, roof beams T60/120 and secondary beams T40/55.

The structural height of the ground floor ranges from 5.08 to 11.02 m, enabling the installation of high-rack equipment and refrigeration technologies. The ground floor slab structure is constructed entirely as a reinforced concrete slab, adapted to technological and storage loads. The project provides a modern, hygienic, and technologically optimised space for a continuous logistics chain — from goods reception through to distribution.

From a construction perspective, the project involves the rehabilitation of existing infrastructure, improvement of structural elements, and complete renewal of installations — from electrical and water supply systems to filtration, ventilation, and public lighting systems. Ancillary facilities are also being upgraded, including changing rooms, service areas, catering zones, and circulation spaces. Particular emphasis has been placed on improving energy efficiency, user safety, and the long-term sustainability of the facility.
